Opening Soon!

The garden location is just North of the Colonial Plaza Shopping Center at the end of Coy Drive, which leads to a large parcel of land of over 17 acres. Previously part of the Orlando Navy Base facilities, the site is now owned by the City of Orlando and zoned for use as a public park. The opening date is set for Summer 2011, and we are currently preparing the site and working on funding.

Planting a Seed...

This website was designed to help promote the efforts to bring a community garden to Coytown in Downtown Orlando. It will be updated frequently with developments in planning, organization, and fundraising. What is a community garden? And what benefits can it bring to our community? Learn more...

We are now accepting donations to help buy the supplies and building materials needed for the garden construction, which will be underway in coming weeks. We will have to purchase lumber, hardware, PVC, hoses, spigots, tools, etc., and it all adds up quickly.

Our hopes are to have all of this paid for by grants & donations, so that participating families have very little to pay up front. Every little bit helps... whether it is $10, $25, or $100, it goes go a long way towards supporting this community project.

We thank you for your continued interest and support. Please forward this website to anyone you know that may want to contribute.

* Donations are being accepted through the non-profit Simple Living Institute, and are tax deductible.

If you want a receipt for your donation, one can be printed from the confirmation page after completing the Paypal transaction.
